Fishing Safari

To fishing enthusiasts Kenya offers a great opportunity to go on a fishing trip whilst enjoying the scenic natural environment and its unique wildlife spots. Anglers have a wide variety to chose from: trout fishing, deep sea fishing and the chance to learn about Kenya’s traditional fishing and preservation methods as practiced by certain communities that were specialists for these activities as a means of earning a living. There are ready programs to take up, but this safari is largely tailor-made to your preference and budget.

Detailed Itinerary

Arrival Day Nairobi
Accommodation: Silver Springs Hotel

Upon arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by a Chiral Afrique Travel representative and after a short briefing on your stay you drive to Silver Springs Hotel located on the outskirts of the city in the upmarket Hurlingham area. Check-in to your hotel and spend the day at leisure. Relax after the long-haul flight.

Day 1 Amboseli National Park
Accommodation: Amboseli Serena Lodge

After breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up at 8am and then you commence the journey by road to Amboseli National Park driving along the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway. You are set to arrive in Amboseli by 12.30pm in good time for a sumptuous lunch at Amboseli Serena Lodge. After lunch, freshen up and take a rest until 3.30pm when you leave for an evening game drive in Amboseli National Park as the sun has cooled down. Your chances of spotting wild game in the evening increase since animals just like men like to roam around when it is cool and the heat has subsided. Enjoy your game drive until around 6pm. Then we drive back to the hotel to freshen up and enjoy dinner followed by an overnight stay.

Day 2 Amboseli National Park
Accommodation: Amboseli Serena Lodge

Early in the morning after breakfast depart from your hotel with picnic lunch boxes and proceed for a full day in the Amboseli National Park, in search of the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant). Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya's most popular national parks. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. You will enjoy picnic lunch at a designated picnic site within the park then continue with game viewing until around 5.30pm when you return back to the Amboseli Serena Lodge to freshen up, relax and have a later dinner followed by an overnight.

Day 3 Tsavo West National Park
Accommodation: Kilaguni Serena Lodge

After breakfast, check out at your hotel and commence your journey to Tsavo West National Park arriving at Kilaguni Serena Lodge in time for lunch. After lunch relax at leisure and at 4pm proceed for an afternoon game drives. Tsavo West National Park holds the marvel of Mzima Springs, replenished with 220 million liters of crystal clear water every day, from underground streams stemming from the lava massif known as the Chyulu Hills 40 – 50 kilometers away. Mzima Springs form a haven for a rich wildlife pageant with elephant soaking half immersed in the waters, light-footed but ponderous looking hippo, apparently weightlessly tiptoeing across the bottom, crocodiles basking on the bank or swirling through the water, gazelles, zebras and giraffes wandering around the banks through the thick acacias and raffia palms together with hundreds of chattering monkeys and birds. Return to the lodge in the evening by 6.30pm then relax and freshen up followed by dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Tsavo West National Park - Malindi
Accommodation: Kilili Baharini Beach Resort

Today an early breakfast is arranged at the hotel by 6.30am and then you depart from the hotel by 7.30am with picnic lunch boxes. This morning will be the best time to go in search of birdlife as you drive slowly towards the Mzima area. You will spot gazelles, elephants, cheetahs and lions that like to roam the park in the morning hours when the temperatures are cool. We depart through Tsavo Gate and start the drive to Malindi. There will be a stop en-route at a good location where you can enjoy lunch from your picnic boxes and then continue the journey to Malindi. You are set to arrive at the Kilili Baharini Beach Resort in Malindi by 4pm in the evening and in good time to check-in then freshen-up and relax after the trip. Dinner and overnight at the resort. 

Day 5 Malindi
Accommodation: Kilili Baharini Beach Resort

Early breakfast at the hotel then depart with picnic lunch boxes and drive to the moorings at the Malindi Fishing Club where we set sail. The captain will brief you on the day’s activity and general safety rules. The boat sails from 3 to 50 miles from shore. It is an adventure to tag and release different kinds of fish ranging from red snapper, bill fish, shark, blue and stripped marlins, sail fish and others. The boat is fully equipped with bait, tackle and ice. Water and plenty of soft drinks are provided on board. Your packed lunch is stored safely and you can enjoy that at the appropriate time. The action filled adventure ends in the evening by 4pm when you sail back to shore and then are driven back to your resort in Malindi.

Day 6 Malindi
Accommodation: Kilili Baharini Beach Resort

After breakfast, you will depart in the early morning for another fishing expedition. Today you will have about 4 hours of fishing and then you can return back to your resort in time for lunch. It will be a good time to continue from where you left the previous day and exhaust your adventure. Accommodation at the Kilili Baharini Resort on full board basis.

Departure Day Malindi - Nairobi

Enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and then by 10am your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel and you are driven to the airport for your scheduled flight at 1pm to Nairobi where you arrive by 2pm and in good time for your scheduled international evening flight.
